Hi, Ausra, this is not a pumpkin..it is called a Turk's Cap or Turban Squash and is very delicious!! I can appreciate the confusion...the top half does look like a pumpkin!! Good luck in the contest! l/f

Thanks for your educative comment and useful naming tips for this guy. I know Americans are very particular about their squashes and pumpkins but in other countries they all have the same name. After all, a pumpkin is a cultivar of a squash plant, means it is a squash itself.

I had pumpkin like this last year and chucked it away in my garden, to my surprise, now its growing, and ill have like 4 this year! I have no idea what kind of pumpkin this is, but it grows out from the flower which is why it looks the way it dies. Other normal pumpkins grow from behind the flower.

Thanks for your informative comment Maciej. My pumpkin didn't get to multiply. Would have been fun to see more of them.

So, Halloween is coming and I looked for a Pumpkin Group. Didn't find one so here it is. I have since found out there are a lot of different types of Pumpkins and Squash. Ausras weird Pumpkin is pretty cool, thank you, Ausra. P.S. Happy Halloween. Another P.S. How about your comment for a name for this funny looking Pumpkin. Thanks.
